VERNA MARLYN MUMMERY (nee LANIUK) February 5, 1948 - November 5, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister Verna after a lengthy and courageous battle with Diabetes on Friday, November 5, 2010 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Verna was predeceased by her father Steve (1979) and mother Mary (2010). Left to cherish Verna's memory are her loving husband of 43 years Dan, son Ron (Donna), daughter Shelley (Wendell), grand-children Michael, Lisa and Rhonda, brother Willy, sisters Diana, Loretta and Deloris. Verna was a wonderful and caring person who never complained and always had a smile on her face. Verna loved the simple things in life. The family would like to thank all those who cared for Verna on Ward Five B for their care and compassion. A celebration gathering will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 in the reception room at the Wheeler Funeral Chapel at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Verna's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
